This
agreement for the training and board of ______ horse(s) is between the owner of
the horse(s), and any agents representing the owner, and Wiebe Dragstra. Training/board must be paid, and the
agreement (including “Releases from Liability”) signed prior to arrival. Horse(s) must be healthy, ‘sound’, and
current on all vaccinations, and proof of coggins must be presented prior to
unloading.
The term of this agreement shall begin on _________________, 20____, and shall continue through _________________, 20____, (a period of _____ months and _____ days).
Monthly
fee for each horse, as of 10/01/2008, is $ 1450.00. The
fee for the first month shall be prorated to the first of the following month,
and the rent shall be payable on the first of each month thereafter. Tenant agrees to pay a late charge of 5% of
the monthly training/board for any month in which payment is not made by the
fifth day of that month.
The
owner will have full responsibility for providing any equipment required.
Including but not limited to halter, lead, and sweat-sheet. Stable sheet and rain sheet are required for
winter months. Stallions must have a leather
turnout halter.

rules must be followed while on property.
PARKING: Landlord will designate parking areas. These will be the only areas where tenant,
will be allowed to park.
The owner of the horse holds harmless and releases
from all liability, Blue Valley Farm, Dragstra Stables, Wiebe and Amy Dragstra,
landlords, and any of the landlord’s agents, for any occurrence on their
property on Blue Valley Road near Southern Pines, North Carolina, for any
accident or injury or damage whatsoever.
This includes, but is not limited to, any injury in connection with
riding or handling any horse, whether mounted or un-mounted, on their
property. This includes any ride, which
begins or ends on their property.
Tenant assumes total responsibility and liability for any animal or
person he/she invites onto this property and all of those under his/her
supervision on the property, and will reimburse landlord for any damage cased
by the same.
Under North Carolina law, an equine activity sponsor
or equine professional is not liable for an injury to or death of a participant
in equine activities resulting exclusively from the inherent risks of equine
activities. Chapter 99E of the North
Carolina General Statutes.”
